Charlotte sports bar outfitted with out-swing doors

Four professional basketball players got together with Atlanta architect Darin Stockdale to design Jocks & Jills Sports Grill, a restaurant and bar located across from the Charlotte Coliseum—home of Charlotte, N.C.'s pro basketball team. Stockdale chose an Olympic design theme and incorporated Corinthian columns, colonnades, and Pella's out-swing doors with EnduraClad finish and clad-fixed windows topped with circle heads.

The original thought was an all-aluminum storefront window and door application, but when Pella bid the job with clad wood for a competitive price, plans changed. Cladding on both the commercial out-swing doors and the windows assures low maintenance and complements the brick exterior.

Available in wood or aluminum-clad wood frames, Pella Commercial pre-hung out-swing entry doors feature commercial hinges, half-inch low profile sills, and 32-inch clear opening widths to meet ADA requirements.
