Laticrete's Latapoxy 310 Stone Adhesive was used to adhere granite slabs to a poured concrete substrate to form the base of the Barbaro Memorial Statue at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. The 750,000-lb. bronze statue, by artist Alexa King, commemorates Barbaro's victory in the 2006 Kentucky Derby. Barbaro was euthanized in January 2007 after having been injured in the Preakness two weeks after its Derby win. The granite installation of the base was completed by Louisville firm DeGrella Tile.
