LEED growing fast in the housing rental market

Last year, developers of 23,000 U.S. multifamily housing units applied for LEED certification. 

That’s equivalent to 14% of the new apartments and condos that started construction last year and almost double the 11,825 multifamily units certified from 2008 through 2011.
