County officials in Bethesda, Md., approved construction on 585,000 sf of mixed-use buildings for the Woodmont Triangle area. Known as Woodmont Central, the three-building project, designed by WDG Architecture, has two apartment towers and an office center. Residential towers—known as The Gallery at Bethesda—are 16 and 17 stories tall, featuring a total of 455 units spanning 494,000 sf. Adhering to a local environmental initiative, the apartment buildings will feature green roofs and are designed to meet LEED certification requirements. The 91,600-sf office center will meet LEED Silver standards.
