Students design net-zero, LEED Platinum field house

Students at The Putney School helped design a 16,800-sf field house, which is solar powered to achieve net-zero status and certified as LEED Platinum. Producing 51,371 kWh a year, the building consumes only 48,374 kWh of electricity. Other energy-efficient technologies include low-water fixtures, composting toilets, white reflective roof, fiberglass windows and a skylight.
