ALEXANDRIA, Va. (November 8, 2010) – CSI today announced that it will hold The CSI Academies February 24-26, 2011, at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas to help construction professionals develop skills and improve their job performance through a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the construction teams.
CSI’s unique focus on the relationships and communication between the owner, design, construction and manufacturing teams makes it the best resource for professionals who need an in-depth understanding of how the teams should interact. This event will improve professionals’ marketability and productivity with skills and information they can use immediately.
“The CSI Academies will share real-world practices and ideas that reflect the evolution of the construction industry,” said CSI Executive Director and CEO Walter Marlowe, P.E., CSI, CAE. “This program gives professionals an invaluable opportunity to learn about current industry issues and gain a comprehensive understanding of how people in many disciplines work together to complete a project.”
The CSI Academies will include education sessions focused on small, intense group work in three areas of practice:
Product Representative Academy (PRA)
CSI teaches product representatives to be professionals who understand more than their product’s features. This track will teach product representatives where and how they fit into the construction process, and how to become a useful resource that the design team will call on again and again. The lessons will include best practices for presenting products and supporting the design and construction teams. CSI will give product representatives the skills to present manufacturers’ product information effectively and succeed in the commercial construction community.
Contract Administrator Academy (CAA)
Nowhere else will experienced administrators find intense training focused on general skills for managing construction documentation, front-end documents and general conditions. Contract administrators will be able to use the information and skills they gain in this session the first day they return to their jobs!
Construction Specifier Academy (CSA)
CSI, the most respected specifications information source in the U.S., will teach professionals who handle specifications about the profession’s best practices, LEED specifications, and BIM data management. Courses will focus on specifying in the real world and current issues, including getting LEED requirements into the documentation and understanding how to communicate specifications in BIM.
