• Mineola, N.Y.-based JRS Architect has acquired Soffes Wood Inc., a full-service design firm with 18 employees based in Manhattan.

Rudolph and Sletten, Redwood City, Calif., has appointed Robert M. Maxwell VP of business development and corporate communications.

• New York-based structural engineer Thornton-Tomasetti Group has promoted Helmut Cerovsek and Erleen Hatfield, PE, to VP in the firm’s home office.

NTDStichler Architects, San Diego, has named Scott Sponsler, AIA, director of the firm’s Healthcare Studio, based in Phoenix.

Lisa Fanto has been promoted to SVP of corporate and communication services with Hardin Construction Co., Atlanta.

Cannon Design, Boston, has named Phillip Schuler, AIA, James R. Bones, PE, LEED AP, David P. Blouin, and Jerry Weslar, RA, associate VPs in the firm’s home office.

• Troy, Mich.-based SSOE Inc. has hired David J. Zuza as national account executive for the firm’s Health Care Design Group.

DPR Construction, Redwood City, Calif., has hired Gary S. Wohl as CFO and a member of DPR’s management committee.

Mitch Paradise has been promoted to VP of business development with Dallas-based Corgan Associates.

• Omaha, Neb.-based Leo A Daly has named Richard Ray Ruhlman, AIA, NCARB, director of operations and Susan Boyd Merrigan director of marketing of the firm’s 90-person Washington, D.C., office.

• Madison, Wis.-based healthcare design specialist Marshall Erdman & Associates has named Steve Roth SVP of construction operations.
