Walter T. Marlowe named new CEO of the Construction Specifications Institute
The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) has announced that Walter T. Marlowe, P.E., CAE, has been selected as the new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of CSI. Marlowe has 16 years experience and demonstrated increasing responsibility in association management. He served in a variety of staff leadership roles at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) before being selected to lead CSI.

ANSI Approval for WDMA Flush Doors standard granted
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) granted approval to the recently revised Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) standard I.S.1A-04 Industry Standard for Architectural Wood Flush Doors. WDMA holds and maintains ANSI-approved standards for both architectural wood flush doors (I.S.1A) and architectural stile and rail doors.

WDMA Names Joel Hoiland President
The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA), the 79-year-old trade organization of leading window, door and skylight manufacturers, has named Joel R. Hoiland CAE of Chicago (Park Ridge), IL as its new president, effective September 1, 2006.

The Pritzker Architecture Prize Adds Three New Jurors
“Three architects from different countries and divergent backgrounds have been named as Pritzker Architecture Prize jurors,” it was announced today by Thomas J. Pritzker, president of The Hyatt Foundation which established the prize in 1979.  “The three are Shigeru Ban of Tokyo and Paris, Toshiko Mori of New York and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Renzo Piano of Genoa, Italy and Paris.”

FEMA adopts AIA recommendations for New Orleans reconstruction
