To fight soaring energy costs, 11 Missouri and Illinois school districts and two Illinois colleges are deploying St. Louis-based Control Technology & Solutions (CTS) to create better learning environments for students and reduce operating costs. CTS is expediting many of the $35.2 million in improvements now under way to achieve fast-track completions.
"With skyrocketing costs for energy, upgrading facilities is a key way school districts can save money over the long haul," said Bob Bennett, partner in CTS. "Today, more than ever, it is critical for schools to be as energy-efficient as possible. The savings we generate will offset the cost of improvements. Even more significant is the healthier, more stimulating learning environments we create for students and their teachers."
School districts engaging CTS to upgrade their physical plants in 2008 include public school districts and colleges in rural and urban areas of Missouri, Illinois and Minnesota. CTS is implementing energy-efficient upgrade projects with school districts from Oak Grove, MO, near Kansas City to Troy, IL, in metro St. Louis to Virginia, MN, an hour south of the Canadian border.
