Architect Tom Kundig of the Seattle-based architecture firm Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects has unveiled his design for a new building for the Sun Valley Center for the Arts in Ketchum, Idaho. The 43,000-sf building will include galleries, classrooms, a 240-seat auditorium, and an underground parking garage. The building's transparent exterior will offer views of the lobby and galleries and includes a wraparound wooden sun screen for light control. Gallery walls inside the building will be moveable to accommodate different exhibitions. Construction is slated to begin in spring of 2008 and expected completion is 2010. Sfingi Group will serve as the project manager and Wilson Construction will provide construction services.
