HKS Brazil opened to serve clients in South America with consulting as well as full-service architectural, interior design and planning services.  The firm’s targeted market areas include Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Peru.

“South America is an emerging market,” said Ralph Hawkins, FAIA, chairman and CEO of HKS, Inc.  “We are excited to be a part of such a dynamic environment.  HKS brings experience and creative design solutions to a diverse portfolio of projects.  We are also internationally recognized for our design quality, project management capabilities, quality control, LEED expertise and international building code knowledge – which adds significant value to our clients’ investment.”

HKS, Inc. is ranked the 9th largest architectural firm in the world, according to BD World Architecture’s Top 100 January 2008 issue.  In specific market sectors, HKS was ranked number one in healthcare, number three in hotels and number three in sports stadiums.

According to Craig Beale, director of HKS’s healthcare group, many providers are offering more accessible, high-quality healthcare services. “With our vast healthcare experience worldwide, we will be able to work with these healthcare providers to design facilities that promote healing and host the latest in high-tech care.”

Eduardo Egea, CAAPPR, AIA, vice president with HKS, serves as director of the Brazil office.

“Brazil is the fifth largest country by geographic area and the fifth most populous country in the world,” said Egea.  “In addition to the fast-growing healthcare sector, we will be able to offer services in the thriving hospitality market and the active corporate and sports/entertainment sectors given our diverse design portfolio.  We look forward to working in collaboration with businesses to share our international design experience and knowledge.”

HKS, Inc. is a leading architectural design firm ranked among the top-three architectural/engineering firms, according to Building Design & Construction magazine.
