Hendrick Construction To Build Addition to Elemetary School

Hendrick Construction To Build Addition to Elemetary School

By Staff | August 11, 2010

Concord, NCHendrick Construction, Inc. was awarded a contract to build a 12,500-square-foot addition to Carl A. Furr Elementary School in Cabarrus County, which will increase student capacity in a rapidly growing area.

Carl A. Furr Elementary School on Clover Road opened in fall 2007, and it has already reached its maximum capacity of 800 students. The addition will provide the school with enough space for its current enrollment and allow for future growth.

Construction will begin soon, and the project is scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the 2009–10 school year. The addition will be built onto the end of the current school structure, increasing the regular classroom space from 33 to 41 rooms. All interior and exterior finishes will mirror the existing facility and look as if the addition was part of the original construction.
