Growing K-12 school population demands more classrooms

Growing K-12 school population demands more classrooms

August 11, 2010

According to the 2003 U.S. Census Bureau and Dept. of Education , America's classroom population is estimated to be 49.5 million., higher than any other time in U.S. history. This number is expected to increase and peak at 50 million in 2014. If these estimates hold true, the U.S. education system will need an additional 3,125 classrooms per year for the next eight years, in addition to replacement and renovation needs.

41% of the modular construction marketĀ came from education in 2005Ā and that trend looks like it will continue with the need for classrooms continuing to skyrocket.
