Hospitals feeling the pain, but not quite on life support

Healthcare construction spending growth ended when the recession began last fall and is expected to continue at a less-than-optimal pace through next year. The value of healthcare construction starts briefly surged 25% in mid-2008 but will steady at the 2006–07 level through 2011.
