The first aloft hotel in the U.S. opened in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., as part of HavenPark, a $60 million mixed-use development currently being developed by The Hileman Co., Los Angeles. The aloft brand is the latest operated by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, White Plains, N.Y., and W Hotels, New York City. The 136 rooms feature loft-like nine-foot ceilings, oversized windows, and an office and entertainment center. The 69,500-sf aloft, designed by The Rockwell Group of New York and developed by The John Buck Company of Chicago, is the first of several to open in the U.S. this year.
