“The purpose of this alliance is to offer the benefits of ESD’s experience in high performance building design for large and complex buildings while supplementing the strength of SDC’s Middle East market presence and resources,” said Raj Gupta, President, ESD.

ESD’s entry into the Middle East market began over 20 years ago when developing design for the National Commercial Bank of Jeddah. The firm recently opened an office in Abu Dhabi to facilitate execution of its projects in the United Arab Emirates and this alliance will be based in SDC’s office in Jeddah. ESD has engineered some of the most sophisticated projects in the Middle East, including Masdar Headquarters and Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi; The Lagoons in Dubai, UAE; and the UAE University Information Technology Building in Al Ain Campus.
