Special-Lite's fiberglass reinforced polyester doors have been third-party tested to meet stringent standards in several performance categories. Independent lab results show that the SL-17 model door surpasses hollow metal doors in thermal performance, reducing heating and cooling loads versus competitors. SL-17 has also been certified for durability by Architectural Testing Inc., and has earned the highest available rating for security against certain kinds of burglaries by ASTM standards. In addition, all Special-Lite products are Greenguard-certified under its Children and Schools Standard.
