The project team broke ground in January on Central Park Tower, the newest addition to the Interlocken Business Park Tower. Owners Franklin Street Properties, a commercial real estate investment trust, took part along with project partners Prime West, a Denver-based commercial real estate development company; Gensler, a global architecture, design, planning, and consulting firm; and The Weitz Co., a national general contractor.
Central Park Tower is the fourth building for the design, development and construction trio in the Broomfield area. When completed, the tower will be 11 stories and 305,000 square feet.
"We are focusing on the Denver market because we see positive growth in this area of the country with the increasing renewable energy business, founded on an already richly diversified mix of user types in the market," said Will Friend, vice president and regional director of Franklin Street Properties.
The building will be made up of a steel frame with concrete foundations and cores, as well as a curtainwall exterior skin. New features for prospective tenants of Central Park Tower include a pre-certified LEED rating of gold, mountain views from the tallest office building on the Highway 36 corridor, amenity space including outdoor and indoor dining areas, formal and informal lobby galleries, and high-end finishes. In addition, Central Park Tower includes an underground parking garage.

The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2010.
