CertainTeed introduces authentic-rustic profile to its Northwoods vinyl shakes line
(Valley Forge, Pa.) – March 6, 2009 - CertainTeed had added a new profile, Single 9-inch Staggered Rough-Split Shakes, to its Northwoods Vinyl Shakes Line. Northwoods is molded from real cedar shakes to produce the authentic TrueTexture-brand finish that recreates the natural textures and variable patterns of milled cedar shingles.
The Single 9-inch Staggered Rough-Split Shakes profile joins two other styles, Single 7-inch Straight Edge Rough-Split Shakes and Single 10-inch Random Hand-Split Shakes. Northwoods, made with CertainTeed’s patented continuous vacuum-formed process, is ideal for accent areas or whole house applications.
“Northwoods creates a rustic style with the authentic look of milled cedar shingles,” says Phyllis Vail, Director of Marketing Communications for CertainTeed’s Siding Group. “The random shake gaps and grain texture on full overlap gives a seamless look, both a unique feature of Northwoods.”
Northwoods profiles are available in 17 low-gloss colors, except for the Single 10-inch Random Hand-Split Shakes, which is available in seven colors. The colors include dramatic darker hues and feature a 1-inch panel projection that creates deep shadow lines. Northwoods features a Class 1(A) fire rating and carries a lifetime-limited warranty.
