McCarthy Building Cos. recently broke ground on the $17 million Lincoln (Calif.) Public Library at Twelve Bridges, a joint effort among the city of Lincoln, Sierra Joint Community College, and Western Placer Unified School District.

Scheduled for completion in July 2007, the facility will serve as the main branch of the public library, as well as the focal point of a new campus surrounded by the planned Lincoln Campus Sierra Community College and the new Twelve Bridges High School.

The single-story, 40,000-sf facility will include community and group meeting space equipped with telecommunications equipment, computer labs, tutoring areas, classrooms for joint high school and community college classes, and video-conferencing capabilities. NTDStichler Architects, Auburn, Calif., designed the facility.
