New North Tower opens at Greensboro, N.C.’s Moses Cone Hospital expansion/renovation
A $200 million expansion and renovation at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. reached a big milestone this month with the opening of the new North Tower. The 264,000 sf North Tower is the largest expansion in the facility’s history. The project includes an 83,000 sf renovation of adjacent space, including patient rooms. In January, the North Tower will become the main entrance to the hospital, once a connecting corridor is completed that links the new space to the old.
The contractor for the project is Brasfield & Gorrie, and the tower was designed by Perkins+Will. The renovations are scheduled to be completed by January 2015. The project also includes a new central plant.
