Natchez, Mississippi’s ‘Taj Mahal’ has its prominent cupola restored
July 05, 2012
The cupola of the historic Longwood house, which some locals refer to as “our Taj Mahal,” in Natchez, Miss., has been repainted and restored. Repairs included plugging holes in the dome, repainting the structure, and replacing wooden spindles surrounding the cupola. Crews had to do some of the repairs inside the structure while others worked outside with the help of a crane.
