The Software & Information Industry Association (formerly ABM, the Association of Business Information & Media Companies) recently announced the 2016 Jesse H. Neal Award finalists, with SGC/SGC Horizon brands tallying nine finalist recognitions in seven different categories. The four brands earning this prestigious recognition are Building Design+Construction, Professional Remodeler, Professional Builder, and Imaging Technology News.
Building Design+Construction/BDCnetwork.com is a four-time finalist in four different categories, including the Best Technical Content category for its “Building Technology Tools” article; in the Best Instructional Content category for its “What Went Wrong? Diagnosing Building Envelope Distress” feature; in the Best Website category for its redesigned BDCnetwork.com website; and in the Best Range of Work by a Single Author category for BD+C Senior Editor John Caulfield’s articles.
SGC Horizon sister publication Professional Builder/ProBuilder.com has three finalist nods; Professional Remodeler/ProRemodeler.com is a finalist in the Best Technical Content category for its ProTradeCraft.com online resource; and SGC’s Imaging Technology News/ITNonline.com is a finalist in the Best Commentary/Blog category.
“We’re honored to be recognized by our peers as a finalist for business journalism’s most prestigious award,” says BD+C Editorial Director Dave Barista. “To be in the running in four categories is even sweeter.”
The Jesse H. Neal Award is recognized as the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press.” Established in 1955, the awards are named after ABM’s first managing director, who promoted the business press throughout his life.
The winners, selected for exhibiting journalistic enterprise, service to the industry and editorial craftsmanship, will be announced on Friday, April 1, at the New York City awards luncheon.
