Atlanta design center earns LEED Gold

Herman Miller's recently opened Atlanta National Design Center has gained LEED-CI (commercial interiors) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The Atlanta showroom and corporate sales office is located in the century-old Puritan Mill complex on Atlanta's West Side. Chicago-based Krueck & Sexton Architects designed the space, which is the fourth Herman Miller design center in the U.S. to receive LEED certification.

The 15,172-sf Atlanta facility is organized to take maximum advantage of natural light and views. The use of daylight and high-efficiency fixtures reduces lighting density power to 57% beyond LEED standards, with lighting controlled through local individual room and workstation controls, as well as daylight and occupancy sensors.
