Baltimore hospital to get a new in-patient tower

A $400 million, 672,000-sf in-patient tower will be added to Mercy Medical Center's facilities in Baltimore. The 18-story tower will feature 32 private rooms per floor and 15 operating rooms. Baltimore-based Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. will provide construction services, and Ellerbe Becket, Kansas City, will design and engineer the tower. Construction will begin spring 2008, with expected completion in fall 2010.
