Hybrid school planned in California

Slated to be completed by this September, The Learning Center will be a 120,000-sf, $35 million facility that will combine a preschool and K-6 elementary school with a comprehensive program for on-site teacher training. It's being built just southwest of downtown Riverside, Calif. and will house 150 preschool students, 750 K-6 students, and 300 teacher trainees. HMC Architects of Ontario, Calif., received an Award of Excellence from the Community College Facility Coalition (CCFC) for its design of The Learning Center. KL Neff Construction of Ontario, Calif., is the general contractor.
