Carson City, Nevada, cancer center puts patient dignity first

No dark, depressing treatment rooms at the new $12 million Carson Tahoe Cancer Center in Carson City, Nevada. The 34,000-sf facility, located on the new 85-acre Carson Tahoe Medical Campus, offers bright, vibrant spaces and breathtaking views of Eagle Valley to help patients endure lengthy treatment sessions. Designed by the Sacramento, Calif., office of HGA, Minneapolis, the two-story structure houses medical and radiation oncology departments, including 20 chemotherapy and infusion stations, each with an unobstructed view of the Eagle Valley (pictured). The facility also features a meditation labyrinth, outdoor patient areas, and a large stone fireplace to help create a soothing healing environment. Hunt Construction, Scottsdale, was the general contractor.
