Construction work has begun on a new municipality building in Burbank, Calif., that will house the city's planning and building divisions, public works department, and parks and recreation department.
Designed by the Los Angeles office of Omaha, Neb.-based Leo A Daly, the Burbank Development and Community Services Building is the first phase of Burbank's civic center master plan that also includes a new civic plaza, central library, parking structure, and pedestrian improvements.
The facility is designed to meet LEED Certified standards, with green features such as daylight harvesting, light-control systems, water-conserving fixtures, and high-efficiency mechanical equipment.
San Francisco-based Swinerton Inc. will construct the facility.
