Huge Southern California project completed in just 28 months

Matt Construction of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., recently completed its work as general contractor on a 769,000-sf complex that includes a 270-room Four Seasons Hotel and Spa, a California WellBeing Institute, and a television studio. The 20-acre project, located 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles, was developed by Westlake Wellbeing Properties and designed by Arnold C. Savrann, AIA, and the Newport Beach office of Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, Honolulu. The hotel features specialty restaurants, 270 guest rooms, and two pools. Over the course of the 28-month construction period, more than 4,000 workers were on site. The project includes building materials of more than three million pounds of structural steel, 7.9 million pounds of rebar, and 39,000 cubic yards of structural concrete.
