LEED Platinum Ronald McDonald charities house coming to Austin

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin and Central Texas is aiming for LEED Platinum for its new 13-room house and administrative office in Austin. Designed by local architect Eckols & Associates, the 28,500-sf, four-story building will feature a roof garden, light shelves, high-performance windows, low-VOC materials, drought-tolerant landscape, and an integrated array of photovoltaic panels that will produce 5% of the building’s energy consumption at peak loading. Target date for completion is April 2007.
