Don't mess with Texas!

I am writing to take exception to your Tech Brief article "BIM modeler forms the country's first regional users group for Autodesk Revit" (June, page 23).

It may well be the first Revit group in Kansas or even that part of the country; however, there have been a couple of very active Revit user groups in Texas since November 2005. Revit user groups in Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin were formed by DC CADD at the request of our clients, to provide a forum for discussion and the exchange of ideas on BIM and the integration of Revit into their workflow processes. DC CADD, a Texas Autodesk reseller, provides the venue and structural support for these meetings; however, the meeting content is user driven.

The DFW user group has been supported by a number of firms (HKS Architects, Good-Fulton & Farrell, PSP, and Intertech), all providing speakers and presentations on the advantages and challenges of using Revit in their design projects.

On May 30th, the first Revit user group meeting was held in San Antonio, with more than 20 people in attendance.

I just wanted to set the record straight on behalf of a large group of Revit users in Texas who are working very hard to assimilate and master this powerful design technology.

Mike Richardson, Marketing Director, DC CADD, San Antonio, Texas

The [MIPIM] project winner Dolce Vita Coimbra shopping center was not designed by Sua Kay. ("MIPIM Awards Honor Six International Projects," March.) Our firm, Suttle Mindlin, was hired by the developer to redesign the shopping center while it was under construction.

The photo in the article [page 39] is the main retail entry, again, designed by our firm.
