New Terminal for Columbus, Ohio, Airport

Port Columbus International Airport in Columbus, Ohio, is undergoing a $1.5 billion capital program that includes a new terminal building and significant infrastructure enhancements. The new 75-gate terminal building will be constructed separately from the existing facility. The new terminal will be built in phases as air service demand dictates, with phase one involving the construction of at least eight gates capable of handling Boeing 757s, a short-term parking garage and the lowering and relocation of the airport's international gateway. Michael Baker Jr. Inc. of Moon Township, Pa., designed the new terminal and Yang-Molen Architecture/Design of Columbus was also on the design team. The new terminal is expected to be completed by 2012, depending on an airport use study by the airport program management team.
