70-Bed Regional Medical Center Under Way in Alaska

Located 50 miles north of Anchorage, the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough is scheduled to open early next year. Ascension Group Architects, of Arlington, Texas, designed the nearly 215,000-sf hospital to replace an outdated hospital in the area. The new facility will hold more than 70 beds, with room for 52 more on the third floor. It will also include an intensive care unit and a cardiac catheterization laboratory.
