Tallest Building in Virginia Planned for Virginia Beach

The third phase of construction has begun on the Town Center at Virginia Beach, Va. It will feature a 38-story, 512-foot-high hotel and residential tower with 36,000 sf of retail space in the building's podium. Designed by Brennan Beer Gorman Architects of Washington, D.C., the Town Center project will be Virginia's tallest building upon completion in late 2007. The $130 million project is being developed through a public/private partnership between the City of Virginia Beach and Armada Hoffler, a Virginia Beach developer. The structure will house a 236-room Westin hotel and 119 luxury condominium units.
