50th Annual CSI Show and Convention

March 28–31

Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas

Architect Frank Gehry, FAIA, and his colleague Dennis R. Shelden, founder and chief technology officer of Gehry Technologies, will kick off the 50th Annual CSI Show and Convention in Las Vegas with a discussion on the benefits of building information modeling technology for the AEC industry. The opening session is one of eight education sessions that will focus on BIM, including an overview of GSA's BIM Pilot Program and how to capture data for operations and maintenance purposes.

The show will feature more than 120 education sessions in all. Topics include: insulation technology, inspection problems in masonry construction, specifying energy efficiency measures for the new federal tax incentives, facility commissioning, and bio-terrorism design.

Also at the show, CSI will present its annual Michelangelo Award for lifetime achievement in the building design and construction field to Charles H. Thornton, PhD, PE, founding principal of New York-based structural engineer Thornton-Tomasetti Group. Thornton will be honored on March 29 during the opening general session.
