New Building Planned for California Architecture School

California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo has launched a $24 million expansion and renovation of its College of Architecture and Environmental Design. The college will add a new 50,000-sf building to provide lab, lecture, administrative, and gathering space for the Construction Management department. The project also includes renovation to three existing facilities on campus and new circulation links, including bridges and pedestrian walkways. The new building was designed by Austin Veum Robbins Partners, San Diego. The engineering team includes Magnusson Klemencic Associates of Seattle for structural, the San Luis Obispo office of Cannon Associates for civil, and Bechard and Associates of Poway, Calif., for MEP.
