Invisible Structures' Grasspave²

Instead of creating a hard-paved fire lane at RadioShack's World Headquarters Riverfront campus in Fort Worth, Texas, Teske specified Invisible Structure's Grasspave² to create load-bearing, pervious green spaces throughout the 37-acre campus. Grasspave² is comprised of a sandy-gravel base course beneath the Grasspave²'s HPDE ring and grid structure, which, when filled with sand and topped with sod, creates a permanent load-bearing surface with 100% grass coverage in lieu of asphalt, concrete, or other traditional surfaces.

Why Kirk Teske specified Grasspave² for RadioShack's HQ

Kirk Teske, SVP and project manager with HKS Inc., has 22 years' experience on projects as varied as corporate headquarters, office buildings, hotels, and high-rise residential complexes.

Teske, a LEED Accredited Professional, is the founding chair of the U.S. Green Building Council North Texas Chapter, an elected member of the USGBC National Chapter Steering Committee, and chair of the Dallas AIA Sustainable Design Committee. He serves as HKS's companywide sustainable design consultant and recently managed major LEED projects for Sabre Headquarters and RadioShack Corp. Teske earned a bachelor's in architecture and environmental design from Texas A&M University.
