Omnova PreFixx Protective Finish

Building Design and Construction

PreFixx is a patented protective finish from Omnova Solutions, Fairlawn, Ohio. It is applied to upholstery and vinyl used in hospitality furniture and hospital equipment and furniture. Schulz says he specifies hotel-casino chairs from Gasser Chair Co., Youngstown, Ohio, and medical furniture from Hill-Rom, Batesville, Ind., because they are coated with PreFixx.

Brad Schulz is one of five principals at 70-person KGA Architecture. He heads the firm's gaming and hotel projects for such clients as the Maloof family (the Palms Casino Resort) and Peninsula Gaming. He is also active in KGA's healthcare practice, with HCA as a major client.

A registered architect for 24 years with a BArch from Arizona State University, Schulz has served as president of AIA Las Vegas and AIA Nevada, chair of the Western Mountain Regional Conference, and AIA Western Mountain Regional Director. He was responsible for bringing the AIA Convention to Las Vegas this month and chairs the convention steering committee.
