Turner Construction Co. has acquired the assets of Washington, D.C.-based J.A. Jones/Tompkins Builders Inc., the former subsidiary of J.A. Jones Construction Co. Jones/Tompkins was one of the business units offered for sale in the wake of the 2002 bankruptcy filing by Jones's German-based parent, Philippe Holzmann AG. The acquisition was approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
