Aqua breaks ground near Chicago's Grant Park

Architect Jeanne Gang's 83-story residential development, Aqua, broke ground this spring near Chicago's Grant Park. The $300 million, 1.9 million-sf project will be LEED Silver certified, and will include a hotel, offices, retail, and parking. The building is being developed by Magellan Development Group and Near North Properties, with Loewenberg and Associates as architect of record. (All firms are based in Chicago.) Completion is slated for late 2009.
