August 11, 2010

Turner Construction Company, the nation's leading builder of healthcare facilities, has been given approval by Northern Inyo Hospital to proceed with the $42 million Phase Two expansion to the hospital facility. Construction for Phase Two will start in March 2009 with completion scheduled for March 2011. Phase Two consists of a new central plant, emergency rooms, ICU, CCU, three operating rooms and 26 patient rooms in the new two-story 56,000 sq. ft. facility.

Turner also managed the construction of the Phase 1 expansion to Northern Inyo Hospital, which was completed in March 2008. The $12.7 million project included a radiology laboratory and support facility for the hospital.

In addition to the work at Northern Inyo Hospital, Turner's Sacramento office is also serving as the construction manager for the Sutter Medical Center Women's and Children's Center (WCC) in Sacramento, Calif. The $410 million project includes a nine-story hospital housing children's services and adult intensive care rooms, intensive care, pediatric medical/surgical, labor, delivery and a rooftop heliport. The project is scheduled for completion in 2011.

"Turner is proud to provide construction services for these two leading healthcare facilities to benefit the patients of the two hospital systems and residents of the surrounding Sacramento communities," said Frank DaiZovi, vice president and general manager of Turner's Sacramento office.
